ATMA VIDYA आत्मा विद्या

 – Who Are We REALLY! – Self Illumined.

One word captures the truth of every human being. Because one word holds our secret, one word can be used to unlock the truth and explode the meaning and mystery of being human.
Self-knowledge
ATMA VIDYA आत्मा विद्या of the veda/upanishads has been unfolding our secret and exposing the perfection of human consciousness for countless generations.

Awake, asleep, eating, dreaming, perfect already 24/7/365 already complete, captured and enchanted by the truth, as the first name of the whole human race, ‘I’ is the password, the PIN code to creation. As we use it to unlock our secret ‘I’ reveals the hidden mystery of human perfection and the universe explodes.

Wanting absolute all out freedom, already perfect, needing nothing to be added or taken way, knowledge of just one word sets us free.
Hidden beneath our ignorance lies our true inheritance. ATMA VIDYA आत्मा विद्या revealing our secret helps us discover not only the truth of who we are but ourselves as the truth. Living and experiencing nothing else but the truth non-stop, until our true inheritance is known, simply living is a struggle.
Here before we got here ‘I’ is the most powerful word in the english language.
Every sentence we speak either begins or ends with ‘I’.
W
ho owns ‘I’? What does it mean?
Until I own its true meaning ‘I’ owns me.

Superimposing all our own ideas on a word, ‘I’ remains changeless. While ‘I’ is absolute, for each of us, ‘I’ has different meanings.  Like a chameleon, it appears to keep on changing. Relying on an idea, because the idea keeps changing with the word, to rely it our life becomes a roller coaster. Whenever ‘I’ gets in trouble, we get troubled. When ‘I’ gets mixed up, we get mixed up. Whenever I gets challenged and conflicted, we feel threatened and challenged. Challenging, conflicting and getting conflicted in everyone is the same ‘I’. So rather than keep trying to hang on, shouldn’t we find out who is hanging on? Whoever is hanging on is the truth.
In crisis we find the very thing we’re hanging onto dragging us further and deeper into crisis and despair. Not understanding its meaning, until we’re forced to through crisis we never question or challenge ourselves. Only when our lives get threatened, and ‘I’ gets challenged, in crisis, suddenly our minds open up and, ready to listen, we want answers.
One thing alone being questionable: ‘i’. Once we answer the meaning of ‘I’ we have no more questions.

As we listen to the words of the teacher and our mystery unfolds recognising and falling in love with our true selves, brings an end to the conflict.

Hearing our secret and understanding the truth of ourselves from a teacher for the first time, resolving the crisis of this ‘I’, we cant believe how we could have missed it for so long. The more we listen and more it makes sense, ending all our confusion and suffering the teaching ATMA VIDYA आत्मा विद्या resolves our crisis once and for all. Ending the crisis, no longer on the roller coaster, as our ignorance disappears, like the sun rising up in the morning, Self-knowledge illumining the darkness removes all the pain and suffering.

Asking the question ‘Who am I?’ or ‘Who is this ‘I’?’ both the question and questioner arising as a direct result of existence in creation mean, answering one, you get the answer to both. Answering the question of the questioner, revealing our secret, the creation and our existence in it no longer a mystery, all our problems of fear, insecurity and doubt disappear.

Knowing our outcome, our head no longer full of questions, the weight of the universe lifts off our shoulders.

The veda/upanishads have always given the knowledge of one thing, knowing which everything else is known. Until we know ourselves, ignorance filling the screen of our lives is the sole reason we all suffer. Filling the vacuum of our ignorance Self- knowledge removes all the pain and stops the mystery.
Along with exploding our meaning as the meaning of the whole universe explodes aghast and agape in wonderment, no longer are we a mystery to ourselves, the universe can play no more tricks on us.
Like finding the missing piece in a giant jigsaw puzzle, finding ourselves to be the only missing piece in our lives, solves all our problems. Using the laser of empirical knowledge and wisdom in a time tested manner, challenging our ideas, Self-knowledge leave us no option but to accept the irrefutable proof – ourselves.
Already the ‘proof in the pudding’, truth having always been ourselves, no longer blinded by the mystery of myself, recognising oneself as the only ‘R’eality capital ‘R’ there is no longer any problems.
Until we stop ignoring ourselves, Truth challenges us in every moment. Every micro-second brings a new challenge.

Having survived the test of time, Self-knowledge points out the timeless destination, the eternal Reality. Self being eternal, imperceptible by the five senses, “Soundles, touchless, colourless, immutable and also tasteless, time-free, odourless is that.” Katha UpaniSad I.3.15) Self-knowledge uses a time tested methodology to point it out.

Already we carry the truth with us. Having brought nothing else with us, experiencing nothing else,  helping reveal and recognising the truth of ourselves, having had the meaning of that which is never subject to change or cancelation revealed to them by their teacher, who had it revealed to them by their teacher in a timeless oral tradition, once the teacher points out the truth, we never look back.
Being nothing in the universe like human being, and no other word like ‘I’, using one word to point out the eternal frees the ever free. Already the eternal, already the solution, to own it up all we need is pointing out.

Because ignorance creates the distance, filling the gap left in our understanding, Self-knowledge completes our education. Having never been shown, Truth having always been our destination, being shown the destination is ourselves, having no distance, we’re home and dry. Having nowhere to go, nowhere to reach, we create the distance.
No longer having to connect to the unknown source of joy and bliss, all that separates us from true permanent happiness is ourselves and our ideas.

Getting darshan, a glimpse, even for a moment is enough. Finding out Self is your best friend, the missing piece no longer missing, the search is over.

As long as it takes us to let go our ideas that long it takes for the truth to dawn. The longer we wait the longer a dictator controls and owns our future.
Confusing us all is only a thought. Confusing ourselves with a thought. Reality changes everything. Hidden beneath the layers lies the eternal jewel; the light of light that we are. Lured by the thought of ‘i’, the longer we stay under its spell and refuse to question ourselves, the longer we keep getting confused, conflicted and in crisis.
To stop the ceiling falling on us, a revolution has to take place. Living under the rule of a tyrant is like living under apartheid. Holding us all to ransom, stealing our freedom, allowing our ignorance to dictate and disrupt our lives, is one thought. One thought creates our confusion. To stop the confusion and change our behaviour we need a change in government. To stop a thought of ourselves from ruling us and remove the imposter and take back power, someone needs to introduce us to our true nature.
Holding us back is our ignorance. Self-knowledge removes the dictator. No longer held hostage, ‘I already being Absolute, no longer its captive, no more mesmerised by ignorance, the nightmare is over. To get rid of blindness we need to own our own secret. By owning our meaning, the future is no longer uncertain and insecure and the roller coaster ride stops.
Knowledge breaks the spell. Resolving the ‘i’thought, breaks its spell and, no longer under its spell the universe can no longer play tricks on you.
